A true community yoga studio comes to Portland’s NE Roseway Neighborhoo

-->

Created in line with the true meaning of yoga, to unite or to yolk, the vision of Roseway Yoga is that by combining community and families with a diversity of classes and teacher, the whole will be and become greater than the sum of it’s parts.   Roseway resident, mother of two, somatic movement lover, and long time yoga practitioner, Ingrid Scott-Singley, saw the opportunity to make this vision a reality in her community and jumped at it.  This new studio is her offering to her local community of something she thought was truly lacking.

Not only is Roseway Yoga welcoming people and families of all back grounds and abilities, but it exemplifies that idea of unity through its offerings and wonderfully diverse staff.  The schedule showcases a true eight-limed yoga practice from Brazilian native, and teacher of over 20 years, Rogelia Alba. She comes to us with a lighthearted approach, yet knowledge steeped in an authentic yoga practice from gurus she has encountered from around the world.   Sifu Chung, a master of martial arts and hypnotherapy, born of Chinese and East Indian decent, offers tai chi class with over 30 years of experience in the practice and study of sacred text that leave for an enlightened experience you won’t find many places. Laura Cooper, an experienced teacher in many different styles of yoga, offers a real family yoga class, where parents and children of all ages can come and enjoy the space, freely expressing them selves while having the expertise of a truly seasoned teacher.  In addition, the studio is offering Nia, Pilates, Yoga Sculpt, Hatha, Vinyasa and Meditation classes and completes the week with a family community dance jam on Sunday’s.

The studio also houses some fantastic wellness practitioners specializing in holistic health coaching, muscular bodywork therapy and personalized yoga.  The future holds plans of a variety of workshops from diaper free parenting to women’s groups to chakra balancing.  The more we grow, so too will the schedule.  The space is conveniently located, warm and inviting.  I encourage you to become a part of this new community space and find a common ground through practice, movement, family and laughter.   It is a place for all to gather that aims to enrich our neighborhood for years to come.               6529 NE Sandy Blvd    www.rosewayyoga.com
